Apple is shifting product manufacturing from China to India. The migration is being handled by Luxshare. Already this year, more than 10% of all iPhone 14 will be assembled in India.

Here's What We Know

With such a statement was made by the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. One of the reasons for the migration of production is not only the deterioration of relations between the US and China, but also frequent lockdowns due to COVID-19.

Foxconn's Zhengzhou facility has suffered several times due to quarantine and mass protests by workers. The plant is expected to see a 35-45 per cent decline in share in 2024. In addition, Apple's smartphone production volumes in Taiyuan will drop by 75-85%.

The migration of production will lead to the fact that by the end of 2023, 12-14% of iPhone 14 smartphones will be produced in India. At the same time, Foxconn will have an 80% share. Apple contractors now produce $7bn worth of smartphones a year. Within five years, the figure will increase almost six times. Moreover, the development of iPhone 17 may partially take place in India.
