IBM showed the smallest chip chip in the world
IBM engineers created a tiny block-computer-the size of a grain of salt (1x1 mm). Due to the compact size it can be integrated into anything, and within 5 years, such devices will be used in everyday things.
What it is?
Plate with chips, one computer in comparison with salt crystals and structure
According to IBM, the chip has the power of processors of the 90s of last century. On the chip with several hundred thousand transistors are all the components necessary for work: a computational module, memory, a data transmission system with an LED and a photosensor, and a power source in the form of a solar panel. The cost of production of such a computer does not exceed 10 cents. It can store, collect and process data.
Why is it important?
The new development is unlikely to interest the miners, but the block-computer will simplify the delivery of goods and help fight counterfeit. Fixed on the package of goods, it allows you to track the movement of the parcel and excludes the possibility of substitution.
IBM prepares different versions of digital prints with connection to the blockroom. Some of them plan to integrate even into tablets in order to protect customers from counterfeit medicines.
