Electronic Arts has presented a report for the second quarter of the current fiscal year, from which we will highlight a few important theses.

Here's What We Know

The company's profit was higher than predicted and totalled $1.91 billion, helped by the excellent performance of Sports FC 24, Madden NFL 24 and The Sims 4.

Despite the abandonment of the FIFA brand, the release of EA's new football simulator Sports FC 24 was hugely successful. The publisher reported 14.5 million active users in the first four weeks after release. EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that EA Sports FC is not just a popular game, but "a powerful interactive platform for all fans of virtual football". As a reminder, EA Sports FC Mobile, a free-to-play game, was also released under the brand, and another free-to-play mobile game, EA Sports FC Tactical, will be released in 2024.

The conversation with investors also touched on the Battlefield 2042 online shooter, which, years after its release, finally started to enjoy great popularity and even broke its own record of peak online. Electronic Arts representatives said that this fact "demonstrates the current strength and long-term potential of the franchise."
