The whole territory of the European Union will be covered by free Wi-Fi

The European Commission approved the launch of the WiFi4EU project, which will provide the entire EU with free Wi-Fi.

Everything begins with the registration of the local municipality on the WiFi4EU portal, after which the relevant authorities allocate funding for the installation of free Wi-Fi access points in public places. Within the framework of the project, each of the registered settlements receives 15,000 euros each in 2018. Total until 2020 from the budget of the European Union is planned to allocate 120 million euros, the entire territory of the association, as well as Norway and Iceland, is covered.
