With the advent of modern technology, people often refuse physical bills. Credit cards and contactless payments allow you not to use paper and go to banking services. From this, the church suffers, which does not keep up with progress and collects donations in the old-fashioned way.

Save and Pay

The English Church solved this problem extremely technologically - it introduced contactless payments. Now each parishioner can donate money to organizations using Apple Pay, Google Pay and SMS. The church uses a portable card reader SumUp Air to read credit cards and conduct banking operations.

Napoleonic plans

Now the church launched contactless payments in a test mode. Credit cards accept only 40 institutions, and plans to expand to 16,000 sanctuaries throughout England. In addition to donations, the payment of rites will be available: weddings, baptisms, concerts and funerals.

Church staff are pleased with this innovation. Rev. Margaret Cave of the church of Eastern Greenwich believes that this way the church becomes part of the 21st century.

"It gives a sense of connection with the 21st century, and we can store payments in a safe place. As a priest, I know that we do not have extra cash, "Cave said.
