Motorola announced the appointment of a new president and chairman of the board of directors. Sergio Buniac will succeed Aimar de Lenkesinga, who decided to leave the company in order to spend more time with his family.

Sergio Buniak is a veteran of Motorola, who has worked in the company for more than 20 years. Since 1996, he has managed operations in Latin America, where the Moto brand now ranks second. Personnel reshuffles occurred shortly after the news of the layoffs in the Chicago office of Motorola. Rumors reported a reduction in half the staff, but later the manufacturer said it would not be so large-scale.

What about the new items?

The message of Motorola also says that the first novelties of the line of 2018 will be presented next month. Most likely, this will be the Moto G6 series in an updated design.

In 2014, Motorola became a mobile division of Lenovo, and after some throwing, the manufacturer decided to release smartphones under the American brand. Recently launched in China, the line of its own smartphones Lenovo did not affect these plans. It is focused solely on the domestic market and online sales (as the Honor brand began with Huawei).
