The manufacturer of the cameras YI Technology has already tried to storm the market of unmanned vehicles, but the first model YI Erida so really did not come out. In 2018, the company is going to the second call with a drone YI Pixie, which has already passed certification in the FCC.

What is known?

YI Pixie will be only slightly larger than DJI Spark - the dimensions of the quadrocopter are 159x159x56.5 mm against the 14-cm "spark". The novelty weighs the same 300 grams. Before the flight, the user can adjust the angle of rotation of the 13-megapixel camera from 0 to 90 degrees (horizontal position). There is no suspension, electronic stabilization is used. Drone supports recording 4K-video at a rate of 30 frames per second, when you lower the resolution to Full HD, you can record at 60 fps, and in addition, there is a slow-motion shooting at 120 fps in HD format.

It seems that YI Pixie is a modification of self-drones Geniusidea Follow. In addition to small differences in the design, you can see the infrared obstacle detection system that has appeared. In the original model in the same place above the camera are installed conventional LED backlight:

You can control YI Pixie through a mobile application, a dual-band Wi-Fi adapter is provided to communicate with a smartphone or tablet. There is also a GPS. The device can circulate above the point of interest or follow the user (the system of recognition of persons is declared). As a power source is a pair of easily replaceable batteries type 18650. With a capacity of 2500 mAh, Geniusidea Follow had enough power for 20 minutes of flight.

When to expect?

There is no official information on this, but the announcement is just around the corner - the partner of the company has already started to teaser the novelty on its Facebook page. And since Geniusidea Follow now costs from $ 300, you can expect about the same price level for YI Pixie. The already mentioned DJI Spark costs from $ 400. It supports only Full HD-shooting, but the camera is equipped with a 2-axis stabilizer.
