In the line of Samsung gaming laptops replenishment - the company introduced an ultra-thin 15-inch model Odyssey Z.

Features

The laptop is equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD-display and a six-core Intel Core i7 eighth generation. The cooling system of the Z AeroFlow Cooling System with an evaporation chamber and two fans ensures the flow of cold air to the hot components from above as well as from below. Apparently, that's why Samsung Odyssey Z received a full-fledged discrete GeForce GTX 1060 Max-P video card with 6 GB of video memory GDDR5. It is 10% more powerful than the variant for systems with Max-Q design.

The amount of RAM reaches 16 gigabytes, the drive - NVMe SSD to 1 terabyte. During the game, the laptop is unlikely to last long on a battery with a capacity of 54 Wh, however, no one expected it. There are a couple of speakers with a power of 1.5 W each, from the interfaces - USB-C, two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI, 3.5 mm headset jack and a charging port.

The keyboard with slightly concave keys is equipped with a backlight, on the right, instead of the digital block, a touchpad is installed. There are buttons for starting the recording of gameplay and activating silent mode, when the noise level drops to 22 dB. Supports work with VR helmets, including proprietary HMD Odyssey. With a thickness of only 17.9 mm, the Samsung Odyssey Z weighs 2.4 kg.

How much is?

We would like to tell you, but we do not know. Samsung decided not to scare prices in advance. It is known only that Odyssey Z will go on sale in South Korea and China this month. In the third quarter, the ultrabook will reach the US market, and the company's computers are not officially supplied to Europe for more than three years. But do not despair - soon similar models will appear in Asus, MSI and other manufacturers. They will cost from $ 1800 or so.
