Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+: fully flat body, under-screen camera, 24GB of storage and 165W charging, priced from $620
ZTE Nubia brand has introduced new gaming smartphones Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+. Both models have the same basic specifications, and differ only in battery capacity, charging power and storage space.
Here's What We've Seen
The main feature of the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ is their design. More specifically, a completely flat back panel without the usual protrusions for the camera. There are no notches on the screen either, as the 16 MP front camera is integrated under the display. There is a choice of classic colours and versions with transparent body.
Both smartphones feature 6.8-inch flat AMOLED screens manufactured by BOE with a resolution of 1116×2480 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. There's also an under-screen fingerprint scanner, which is not only responsible for security but can also measure heart rate.
Inside, there is a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and an RGB-lit cooling fan that spins at 22,000 rpm. The improved cooling system has a layer of graphene under the screen as well as a larger duct and reduces the temperature by 18 degrees.
The main camera includes a 50 MP Samsung GN5 sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50 MP wide-angle camera and a 2 MP secondary sensor for macro photography.
Now for the differences. The Red Magic 9 Pro offers a 6,500mAh battery with 80W wired charging, as well as 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB of inbuilt UFS 4.0 storage. The Red Magic 9 Pro+, on the other hand, gets 16/24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of inbuilt storage. It features a 5500mAh battery with 165W fast charging support.
Here's What It Costs
The Red Magic 9 Pro costs $620 (8/256GB) and $760 (12/512GB), while the Red Magic 9 Pro+ will cost between $775 (16/256GB) and $990 (24GB/1TB).
