Volvo has produced a city electric truck Volvo FL Electric

Volvo has launched its first electric truck called Volvo FL Electric. The novelty is intended for transportation in the city and will be released next year.

Power reserve Volvo FL Electric - 300 km. Full charge from a special outlet occurs in 2 hours. If you use a conventional power grid, the time will increase to 10 hours. The cargo van received an electric motor with a capacity of 252 liters. from. and a torque of 450 Nm, a two-speed gearbox, a reduced noise level for driving at night streets and several modifications with different amounts of battery. In one configuration there are six batteries of 100 kWh, in the other two batteries of 300 kWh each. The maximum lifting capacity is 16 tons.

For what and when will be released

The electric truck Volvo FL Electric is planned to be used for driving around the city. The first customers were the large cargo carrier TGM and the garbage collection company Renova. The first consignments of the electric van will leave the assembly line in 2019. The exact date of release and the price tag of the new items are still unknown.

Competitors

Among the main competitors of the novelty are a novelty Tesla Semi, an updated electric Mercedes-Benz Urban eTruck and a slightly less powerful Mitsubishi E-Fuso Vision One.
