In the Telegram added settings Proxy server
The popular messenger has added the ability to bypass locks, as well as support for Android Pay.
Adequate response to inappropriate actions
Although the recent scandal around Telegram seems to have abated, Pavel Durov decided to reinsure himself and added support for the Proxy server to his application, in case of blockages. Anyone can configure it: for this you need to open the settings menu, then select the item Data and Storage, from there go to the section Proxy Settings, and already there to specify the address of the proxy server. Pavel Durov himself commented on this update as follows:
"So, Roskomnadzor was satisfied with the reference to open sources with data about our company and registered Telegram in the register of information distributors. As stated, the question of blocking Telegram on the territory of Russia at the moment is not worth it.
However, it's still too early to rejoice: the contradiction between Telegram's privacy policy ("no byte of personal data to third parties") and a number of Russian laws on surveillance did not disappear. Telegram operates on unified principles around the world: even in conservative Iran, where Facebook and Twitter are blocked and where Telegram has more than 40 million active users, the government has not received from us a single byte of personal data from users. We will not make an exception to our principles for the sake of preserving the market share in individual countries.
In this regard, I urge you to make sure that you have the latest version of Telegram (4.1) installed. Today's update, in addition to convenient administration of large groups and channels, makes Telegram even more resistant to potential blockages in the future - both in Russia and in other countries. "
In addition to the addition of Proxy, the new update significantly expanded the functionality of super-group administrators, now each administrator can configure the rights separately. Supergroups can now accommodate up to 10,000 users.
