The most repairable smartphone: the modular Fairphone 5 received a 10/10 from iFixit

Fairphone company at the end of summer presented its new smartphone Fairphone 5. It does not change its principles and continues to produce modular devices that can be repaired by yourself at home. Whether it is so - iFixit specialists checked it.

In iFixit showed a detailed disassembly of the smartphone. First of all, it is easy to open: you do not need to heat the back or try to pry up any glass elements - you just need to remove the cover, as in old phones with removable batteries. Meanwhile, the Fairphone 5 is IP55 dust and water resistant.

Modular design allows you to easily replace not only the battery, but also other components, including camera sensors. Moreover, the manufacturer added labelled labels on cables and components that will help users during repairs.

As a result, iFixit experts gave the smartphone for repairability the maximum score of 10 points.
