Florida criminal demands 'a couple of million dollars' from Rockstar Games for using his image in Grand Theft Auto VI trailer
In the first trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI Rockstar Games played a lot of real events that took place in Florida in the last few years. Almost every episode of the trailer is based on the turbulent life of this state: there was a woman with hammers, and alligators in the pool and in the supermarket, a naked man watering the lawn and girls regularly perform twerk on the roof of cars.
There was also a colourful criminal with a huge number of tattoos on his face, extremely similar to the prisoner shown in the GTA 6 trailer. This real person is nicknamed The Florida Joker and he believes that Rockstar used his image without permission.
Here's What We Know
The Florida Joker recorded an appeal to the famous developers, in which he tries to prove the similarity of the character to his appearance. Lawrence Sullivan - this is the name of the offender - demands monetary compensation in the amount of "a couple of million dollars".
Rockstar Games has not responded in any way to the Florida Joker's proclamations, but instead Roger Clark, who played the role of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, approached the criminal. He advised Sullivan not to contact Rockstar Games and Take-Two, as much more influential people (for example, Lindsay Lohan for the use of "her image" in GTA V) have tried to file claims against them, but the companies' lawyers do not get paid for nothing and successfully defend their clients from the attacks of the "offended".
Still, we wonder what the Florida Joker will do next.
