A few weeks ago there was news that Nokia was looking for strategic alternatives for the Digital Health division. According to the French media, the manufacturer began to negotiate with Google, Samsung and several local companies, in the hope of selling part of the business. The other day Nokia confirmed this information.

What is known

The Finnish manufacturer officially announced the sale of its division of portable electronics. But the most interesting thing is that the negotiations are being conducted with the first owner and former founder of the company Withings - Erik Carrel (Éric Carreel). Terms of the deal are still negotiated and it is planned to close at the end of the second quarter.

Recall, Nokia bought the French manufacturer Withings in 2016 for 170 million euros. The company was engaged in the production of various gadgets for fitness and health. In the assortment there are "smart" scales and tonometers. But the most popular products are hybrid "smart" watches with the classic appearance of Withings Activité, Activité Pop and Nokia Steel HR .
