Flagman smartphone in 2016 Honor 8 will get Android 8.0 Oreo

There was a lot of talk about whether Honor 8 would get the latest version of the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. And now there was information that the company is still working on the firmware.

What is known

Some smartphone users in China were able to install it. It weighs 1.3 GB. The update includes new themes, updated EMUI 8 interface, AI functions, and Android 8.0 Oreo innovations: notification points, autocomplete, picture-in-picture function and much more. Also with the upgrade device, should get support for Project Treble, which means it will be faster to receive the current version of the OS in the future. Honor has not officially released an OTA update yet, but most likely, it will happen in the near future.

Recall that the smartphone came out in 2016. The device has a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution, a Kirin 950 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of ROM, and a microSD card slot. The smartphone has a dual main camera at 12 megapixels and 8 megapixel front. The autonomy of the device is answered by a 3000 mAh battery.
