Apple has released a software update for Magic Keyboard that addresses a serious Bluetooth vulnerability

Apple has unexpectedly announced a new version of the Magic Keyboard software.

The firmware has been released with build number 2.0.6. According to Apple documents, in the update the company's developers eliminated a serious vulnerability related to Bluetooth. According to the company, attackers with physical access to the accessory could obtain the Bluetooth pairing key and monitor Bluetooth traffic.

The new software version is already available to owners of Magic Keyboard (2021), Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and numeric keypad. By the way, the firmware is downloaded and installed automatically as long as the keyboard is paired with a device running macOS, iOS, iPadOS or tvOS.
