Apple opens pre-orders for Vision Pro headsets: first batch sold out in 1 hour
In the United States, pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset have started. And the novelty is already in short supply.
Here's What We Know
The headset is available in three versions: with 256 GB of memory ($3499), 512 GB ($3699) and 1 TB ($3899). The order can be placed on the official website and in all Apple retail shops, but so far only in the US - in other countries the gadget will be available later (before WWDC, which will be held in June).
Initially, the date of delivery of orders on 2 February was specified. But the first batch, which was prepared by the company, was sold out in just 1 hour, so now the deadline has been shifted to March. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the first batch was supposed to contain between 60,000 and 80,000 Vision Pro units. Whether this is the case or not is unknown, as Apple does not report sales of any of its products.
The first model to hit supply constraints was the 256GB version. Higher capacity models soon followed.
