Apple Vision Pro better not be broken: headset repair costs up to $2400 - like two new iPhone 15 Pro Maxes

Yesterday Apple started accepting pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset. And at the same time published on its website information about the cost of repairing the device.

On the front of the gadget is a laminated glass, which (like ordinary glass) is quite fragile, easily cracked and broken. If this happens, replacing the glass will cost the owner $799.

If you need to repair any other component, the amount can go up to $2,399. This is only $1,100 less than the full cost of the new headset - the base version with 256GB of storage costs $3,500.

That's why Apple advises customers to take out the AppleCare+ extended warranty. It costs $499 for 2 years or $24.99 per month for an "infinite" warranty that lasts as long as you keep making payments. With AppleCare+, it will cost $299 to repair the Apple Vision Pro.
