Smart watches have long been our personal assistants for monitoring activity and health. But how accurate are they? That's what renowned blogger Marques Brownlee, aka MKBHD, decided to test.

Details

Marques decided to test the basic function of watches and smart bracelets - counting the number of steps travelled. To do this, he put on 5 devices at once and counted 1 thousand steps on his own.

Smart watches showed the following results:

  • Apple Watch Ultra - 955
  • Garmin Fenix 7 - 964
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch - 994
  • Google Pixel Watch - 998

That is, the most accurate were "pixels" from Google. But, in general, all models showed quite accurate results. Especially compared to a cheap pedometer for $5, which Marcus also used during the experiment. It showed as many as 1,168 steps, which is almost 20 per cent more.
