Moderation system reduces toxicity level in Call of Duty voice chat by 50%

Usually, multiplayer games are quite toxic. However, developers are trying to find ways to ensure that there are more sane players in the game, and not vice versa. And Activision has already achieved some results in this regard, punishing offenders with the help of its technology and people who moderate voice chats.

Here's What We Know

Voice moderation was added at the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. At that time, it worked only in English, but now it supports Spanish and Portuguese. The feature is now also available in Modern Warfare II and Warzone.

Since November, 2 million accounts have been penalised for being toxic in voice chat. These people will be disabled from using voice chat for a certain period of time.

However, Activision also reported a disappointing trend: only 1 in 5 players complain about the toxicity of other players. The company noted that although their technology is able to detect such players on its own, a player's complaint is more likely to happen.

It also became known that 8% of players no longer behaved toxicly in Call of Duty after being punished. In general, the level of toxicity of voice chat in Call of Duty has decreased by 50%.
