"Saltburn" star Jacob Elordi will play the monster in Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein" for Netflix
Jacob Elordi has confirmed his participation in Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming horror film "Frankenstein". The actor will play the role of Frankenstein's monster.
Here's What We Know
Initially the role of the monster was entrusted to Andrew Garfield, but earlier this month it became known that the actor left the project due to a scheduling conflict.
It was later reported that he had been replaced by Elordi, who finally confirmed the news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, while also sharing his excitement about working with Del Toro:
"Same" Elordi responded to the host's admission that he had heard as if the actor had been picked for the new Frankenstein film. And added: "Yeah, I’m playing Frankenstein’s creature… for Guillermo, who is the God of monsters. He’s the kindest man, and he’s so sincere. He’s brilliant.".
Guillermo del Toro is adapting Mary Shelley's classic work about Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but selfish scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the deaths of both the creator and his tragic creation.
The star-studded cast includes Oscar Isaac, who played scientist Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth, Christoph Watlz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley and Christian Convery.
