Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra flagship underwent an extreme durability test: it was thrown on the floor and sprinkled with sand. And now the authors of the YouTube channel TechDroider decided to give it an ice and frost test.

Details

Bloggers took 3 popular flagships - Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro, placed them in a container, poured water and left them in the freezer for 6 hours. After that, the smartphones were defrosted and tested for performance.

All three passed the test on "excellent": after water and freezer were not damaged neither displays, nor speakers, nor ports, nor camera lenses. Despite a 6-hour stay in the freezer, the gadgets continued to work as if nothing had happened.

However, in deeper, pressurised waters, the result is likely to be different, so it's best not to test your smartphone's durability.
