Back in 2011, Neversoft, which is known for the Guitar Hero series, was developing Call of Duty in space. The project was cancelled, but only now we have seen the gameplay of that game.
Here's What We Know
Call of Duty: Future Warfare was in development. The 2-minute video demonstrates a mission on the Moon, and the list of missions shows that the story campaign would have developed both on Earth and beyond.
The game could potentially have been released instead of Call of Duty: Ghosts, but in 2014 Neversoft merged with Infinity Ward, which can be considered the end of its existence. However, the authors' achievements were useful, because in 2016 we got Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which is partly set in space.
