Goodbye Nokia: HMD Global will no longer make smartphones under the legendary brand

HMD Global launched the HMD (Human Mobile Devices) brand in September and said it plans to produce its own devices under it. Now there is information that they will replace Nokia gadgets.

Information about this appeared on the official website of the company. That is, the brand of mobile phones Nokia officially leaves the market. Now all new smartphones, tablets and TWS-headphones of the company will be released with the name HMD. The manufacturer has already removed the Nokia name from its social media and official website.

By the way, the first novelty of HMD will be a smartphone. It should be shown at the MWC 2024 exhibition at the end of February. According to rumours, the gadget will get a 108 MP camera and will resemble the legendary Nokia Lumia.

HMD Global entered into a licence agreement with Nokia Corporation in 2016 to manufacture smartphones under the Nokia brand. This agreement allowed HMD Global to use the Nokia brand name and develop mobile devices.
