MediaTek is already working on the Dimensity 9400 chip, it will be built on TSMC's new 3-nanometre process technology
MediaTek revealed its flagship Dimensity 9300 processor in November 2023, and now there is information that the manufacturer is already working on its successor.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by the CEO of MediaTek. Preliminarily, the SoC will be called Dimensity 9400. It is known that the novelty will be presented in the fourth quarter of this year. The chipset will be built on the new 3nm TSMC (N3E) process. For comparison, Dimensity 9300 is made on the older N4P process.
MediaTek has not officially confirmed the configuration of the new processor yet, but if rumours are to be believed Dimensity 9400 will be equipped with a high-frequency Cortex-X5 core (it has not been officially presented yet). The middle and lower cores will remain the same - 3x Cortex-X4 and 4x Cortex-A720. Core frequencies and other specifications of the chipset are not yet available.
