In 2022, Snap started selling Pixy, a compact yellow drone weighing about 100g that is equipped with a camera. Its main function is to fly around its owner and capture it on camera. However, something has gone wrong.

Details

Snap and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling all drones sold due to the risk of fire. There have already been several reports of battery implosion, one fire and one minor injury. Therefore, the manufacturer is urging to stop using the drone immediately, remove the battery and do not charge it.

Snap promises a full refund for the drone itself and/or separately for the battery.

Exactly how many gadgets will be recalled - the company does not specify. But it is known that a total of 71 thousand batteries were sold, which means that the number of drones is less than this figure.
