The development of the third part of Final Fantasy VII remake is already underway, - says the director
Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth will be released in a little over a week and, given the nature of the series and the passionate commitment of the fans, it is no surprise that many are already looking forward to the third and final instalment of the trilogy. This expectation is shared by Square Enix itself.
Here's What We Know
In a recent interview with YouTuber Julien Chieze, Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi said that the development team has "already made progress" on the final part of the trilogy. The current stage of production of the third game is roughly equivalent to the one Rebirth was at when Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released in 2020.
"Of course, I can't tell you what stage we're at, but we've already made progress on the script, and we're thinking about certain developments," Hamaguchi said "When we got to the end of the development for Remake, we started talking about a sequel with [writer Kazushige Nojima] and I think we can say that we are in the same situation today."
Where To Play
Upon release, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will only be available on PlayStation 5.
