Ukraine to start cooperation with German missile manufacturer Taurus
UkrOboronProm signed a number of documents with MBDA Deutschland, a German company that produces missile systems, including Taurus.
Here's What We Know
The press service of the Ukrainian company noted that the signed document does not oblige to transfer missiles. However, it is about jointly exploring programmes or opportunities for cooperation on air defence systems and concepts, as well as countering drones.
Potential areas of partnership include research, development, production, investment, etc.
It is noted that such cooperation with the world's leading arms companies primarily allows Ukraine to further accelerate the development of the defence industry. It also expands Ukraine's capabilities at the frontline.
"This agreement is an important milestone in relations between the defence industries of our countries. I am looking forward to working with Ukroboronprom, a leading player in the European defence industry," said Thomas Gottschild, Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland.
