Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy seventh enemy aircraft in a few days
The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk said that on 21 February, Ukrainian troops shot down another Russian Su-34 bomber.
Here's What We Know
Over the past week, the fifth enemy Su-34 has been downed, and a total of seven aircraft have been shot down during this time. On 17 February, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that it had shot down three aircraft at once - two Su-34s and one Su-35 fighter jet. Later, on 18 February, another Su-34 was downed, and on 19 February, another Su-34 and a Su-35 were shot down.
"This time, I can say that the Su-35 pilot was lucky - he manoeuvred and is no longer at risk. But the Su-34 crew joins our 'Eternal Flight, Brothers' section," Oleshchuk said.
For those who don't know
The Su-34 bomber is designed to carry out missile and bomb attacks on ground targets, as well as to engage enemy air targets.
The Su-35 multi-role fighter is an upgraded Su-27. It is designed to intercept and destroy all classes of air targets in long-range and close-range combat.
