Counterpoint: 7 of the top 10 best-selling smartphones in the world for 2023 will be Apple iPhones

The analytical company Counterpoint Research has published a rating of the best-selling smartphones by the end of 2023 worldwide. And there is not a single model of Chinese manufacturers in it.

Apple smartphones turned out to be the most popular. And so popular that they took the top 7 lines of the rating, leaving only 3 places to Samsung devices.

The absolute leader was the iPhone 14, even though it was released in 2022. It accounted for about 3.9% of all smartphone shipments in the world. And half of the total sales were provided by the US and China.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro took the second and third spots, with the iPhone 13, which debuted in 2021, coming in fourth place. The iPhone 15 Pro Max was the best-selling device in the fourth quarter of 2023 and ranked fifth on the list. This was followed by the iPhone 15 Pro (sixth place) and the iPhone 15 (seventh place).

Samsung could only make it to the last three spots of the ranking with its low-cost smartphones Galaxy A14 5G, Galaxy A04e and Galaxy A14 4G.

Analysts predict that by the end of 2024, the list will be more diverse and the top 10 will include at least one Chinese smartphone.
