Google Chrome continues to improve its search features, offering users new features and visuals in the search tooltips.
Here's What We Know
The new updates bring improvements for both desktop and mobile users. Google announced that Chrome is adding three new search hints features that it hopes will give users a "boost of inspiration."
- Desktop hints:
Chrome's new desktop tab now displays recommendations based on past searches. If you've previously searched for a certain type of food, you'll see examples of similar dishes under the "People also searching" heading.
- Visual suggestions on mobile devices:
Chrome for Android and iOS is becoming more visually expressive. When shopping for items, Chrome now shows images of different types of items that are near your current search. This makes it easier to find similar shopping results that don't completely match your original query.
- Improvements for search hints in choppy reception:
Google is improving the search hinting experience on smartphones and tablets by relying less on data stored on servers. This will help in incognito mode and in areas with poor connectivity.
These changes come with the release of Chrome 122 on Android, iOS, and desktop platforms like Windows and macOS. While most of these are server-side updates, Google assures that these changes will start rolling out today.
