Tropic Haze, the makers of the well-known Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu, have entered into an agreement with Nintendo. The documents stipulate that Tropic Haze agrees to pay Nintendo $2.4 million as part of the lawsuit settlement.

Here's What We Know

Nintendo's lawsuit claimed that the emulator violated copyright laws in the digital age, bypassed Nintendo's protection, and allowed users to play games without legal copies.

The agreement contains terms and conditions relating to Tropic Haze's future activities related to the Yuzu emulator and Nintendo's assets. In particular, Tropic Haze undertakes to cease all activities related to the development, marketing, distribution or sale of the Yuzu emulator or any similar software that circumvents Nintendo's technical protection measures. In addition, they must transfer all assets related to Yuzu, such as tools, cryptographic keys, and modified hardware used to develop and maintain the emulator, to Nintendo.

The agreement also stipulates that Tropic Haze must cease all activities related to the Yuzu emulator and transfer all related assets to Nintendo. Nevertheless, Yuzu is still available on GitHub, where you can find its entire code base.
