Vertical scrolling of the app list will appear in One UI 6.1.1 with the Good Lock update

The default One UI has the app list scrolling horizontally and offers no option to change this behaviour. Good Lock users used to be able to switch to vertical scrolling, but Samsung removed that option. Now a Samsung Community moderator confirms that it will return.

Here's What We Know

Informant @theonecid writes that according to a post in the Samsung Community thread, the Good Lock "Home Up" module of the upcoming One UI 6.1.1 update will include the return of vertical scrolling.

However, the schedule is not final and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

One UI 6.1.1 is the expected follow-up to the One UI 6.1 update that debuted with the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung has yet to confirm when One UI 6.1.1.1 will be released, but the update will likely debut with the upcoming Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 devices. At least judging by the way One UI 5.1.1 came out with the Galaxy Fold 5 and Flip 5 last year.

One UI 6.1.1.1 probably won't be released for too many devices before One UI 7.0 enters the beta testing phase, likely closer to the end of 2024. So it's possible that the update, which will bring vertical app list scrolling to Good Lock's "Home Up" module, won't be available for many Galaxy devices initially.
