Creative software TikTok is coming out of beta with some improvements and a new name
TikTok, the popular platform for creating and watching short videos, has announced the launch of new programmes and tools to support creators who want to develop their creativity and get rewarded for their content.
Here's What We Know
Social network TikTok has unveiled new features for its authors to help them develop their creative side and earn money from their content. The new features include a revamped author portal, a new rewards programme and a subscription feature.
The author portal will be renamed Creator Academy and will offer a variety of resources, courses, articles, videos and analytics. Creator Academy will be available in seven languages in the coming weeks, with more to come.
The Creativity Programme, which was launched in beta last year, will also have a new name - the Creator Rewards Programme. This programme is designed to encourage the creation of quality and long-form content, for which authors will receive cash rewards. According to TikTok, the total income of authors has increased by more than 250 per cent in the last six months, and the number of authors earning $50,000 a month has almost doubled.
The subscription feature will allow authors to receive monthly payments from their subscribers, who will have access to exclusive content and interaction. The subscription feature will only be available to invited authors, but it could expand to more users in the future.
TikTok hopes that these new tools will help authors unleash their creativity and reach a larger audience.
