Dota 2 World Championship returns to Europe! Valve has revealed the first information about The International 2024
Valve has revealed the first information about The International 2024 - the annual major Dota 2 tournament and one of the most prestigious cybersport events.
Here's What We Know
This year The International will be held in September instead of October, as it was in the last three years.
The venue will be Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The tournament will be held at the Royal Arena, which seats 13,000 spectators.
Due to the fact that Valve has abandoned the DPC system for this competition season, the organisers have decided to return to the old format of determining the participants: The International 2024 will feature 16 of the world's best Dota 2 teams, some of which will get to the tournament based on the results of regional qualifications, and some teams will receive a direct invitation from the organiser.
Last year The International was held in Seattle, and the last time the Dota 2 World Championship was held in Europe was in 2021 in Romania (Bucharest).
