The full release of MultiVersus will take place on 28 May
After an open beta test in 2022, MultiVersus entertained players for almost a year. However, in June last year, it went offline and seemed to disappear. Despite criticism for server problems, aggressive monetisation, and poor development, the Smash Bros. inspired fighting game gained immense popularity. And now it is time for the game to return.
Here's What We Know
WB Games and Player First Games announced that the full release of MultiVersus will take place on 28 May with significant changes and additions. In particular, the game has moved to the Unreal Engine 5 engine, and the network code has been updated to improve the online experience, as told by the game's director Tony Hyunh, who is also the co-founder of Player First Games.
The relaunch brings new content, including fighters such as the Powerpuff Girls and stages such as Dexter's Laboratory and Townsville. Existing characters receive updates with new attacks and mechanics. An important addition is the new PvE mode, which offers unique rewards for a new gaming experience.
Where To Play
Upon release, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC.
