Samsung refuses to sell old chip-making equipment over US concerns
Samsung, the world's leading technology manufacturer, has stopped selling its old chip-making equipment. The reason is concerns about possible sanctions from the US. The company is worried that the equipment could end up in countries subject to the US embargo, including Russia and China.
Instead of recycling old machines, Samsung stores them, spending significant sums on their upkeep. This is due to concerns that Samsung products could end up in banned markets. Despite the lack of legal penalties for selling products to the right sellers, Samsung chooses not to take any risks ahead of the presidential election.
This decision leads to unique problems - some manufacturers spend millions just to store old machines. Additionally, manufacturers like Huawei could fall behind the competition if they can't get access to modern technology.
