Czech Republic may purchase additional 200,000 shells for Ukraine

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said that his country had found an opportunity to purchase an additional 200,000 artillery shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces from third countries.

Fiala noted that 18 countries have already joined this initiative, which is a great success. According to him, this is another proof that the Czech Republic is "an active player in European politics".

Earlier, at the Munich Security Conference, Czech President Petr Pavel announced the possibility of purchasing artillery shells for Ukraine. He noted that the Czech Republic has already found 500,000 NATO standard-calibre artillery rounds and another 300,000 Soviet-calibre shells in non-EU countries.
