Amazon now allows sellers to create listings via URL using artificial intelligence
Last year, Amazon launched generative artificial intelligence features to help sellers quickly create listings by entering just a few words about a product. Now the company is making it easier for sellers to create listings if the product is already listed on their own website.
Here's What We Know
Amazon has introduced a new tool that uses artificial intelligence to analyse product details from another website's URL and create a listing on Amazon. The feature is now available to sellers in the US in English.
In addition to using a small amount of text or image to create a listing, Amazon is launching the ability for sellers to simply use their existing listings by providing Amazon with a URL that is automatically analysed by AI-based features, which will seamlessly create quality listings for the Amazon shop.
In October last year, Amazon launched a tool for advertisers to generate backgrounds using text cues. The company said that contextual product backgrounds can increase clickability by 40% compared to white backgrounds. In the latest announcement, Amazon said that more than 100,000 sellers have tried out the generative AI tools. The more interesting statistic the company mentioned was that 80% of the time, sellers accept offers from AI-based tools.
Other companies have also created AI-based features related to products for advertisers and retailers. Last year, Google launched a tool that creates a product image from a description, and eBay introduced a feature that generated adverts from product images. Earlier this year, Shopify released its own AI-based image editor for merchandise.
