YouTube Music introduces song search, similar to Google Play Music
YouTube Music is starting to roll out a song search feature similar to the one on Google Play Music. The feature is already available on YouTube on Android.
Here's What We Know
On Reddit, user Izmir_Stinger revealed that the new search feature is already available in his YouTube Music app for iPhone. To use it, you need to launch a search and click on the new "Song" tab (instead of "Voice"). Users can play, sing or hum, much like Google Search's Hum to Search feature. YouTube uses AI to match the audio to the original recording.
This simplifies the process of finding and playing specific songs. Adding song search to YouTube Music improves the overall user experience. Whether you are looking for a popular hit or some rare song. It would be nice if all search results were stored in a playlist like Spotify. Perhaps the company will announce this feature in the future as well.
