Anduril has demonstrated how its new Altius-700M kamikaze drone works against the Russian Buk-M2.

Here's What We Know

The drone was tested in Digway, Utah, back in the autumn of 2023, but the footage has only just been shared. The target was a model of the Russian Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system.

Altius-700M belongs to the category of long-range kamikaze drones. It is capable of not only detecting and destroying targets, but also doing so at a distance of approximately 160 km, while barricading for up to 75 minutes. One of the key features of the new version is an improved guidance system. In the video, you can see how the drone flies into the target.

The Altius-700M is the next version of the Altius-600 reconnaissance UAV, which is already successfully used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new drone has even more features and functionality, and its weight has been significantly reduced, making it more manoeuvrable and versatile.

In addition, the drone remains container-launched, which makes it possible to launch it from a variety of platforms, from ground to air. Like the older version, the Altius-700M is based on an open architecture, meaning it can be upgraded at any time.
