The Chinese company EHang Holidings is launching a new model of flying taxi EH216-S for $332,000.
Here's What We Know
In October, EHang received a certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China confirming the development's serviceability. This required extensive laboratory, ground, and flight tests at test sites in multiple locations in China.
Upon receiving the certificate, the company said it had set the benchmark for certification of similar aircraft in China and beyond.
The company is one of the first in the world to create an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft, which will soon be in use. The two-seater electric taxi flies thanks to several small propellers and can reach a maximum speed of around 130 km/h.
