The Night Wanderer, a remarkable action game based on The Lord of the Ice Garden series of novels by Polish writer Jarosław Grzędowicz, was announced last week.

In an interview with Polish portal Strefa Inwestorow representative of Mighty Koi studio Marcin Grzegórski clarified some nuances of the project.

Here's What We Know

According to Marcin Grzegórski, the budget of the game will be $15-20 million, this amount includes both production and marketing costs. But if the studio manages to find a publisher or large investors, the production budget of The Night Wanderer can grow significantly.

The representative of Mighty Koi studio noted that the developers are trying to combine action, RPG and Soulslike elements in their game in an organic and unusual way, and the structure of locations will be borrowed from Metroidvania genre. Thus, it can be assumed that gamers will get a complex game with a deep combat system, non-linear story, high complexity and multi-level locations.

The Night Wanderer's main story should last 20-30 hours, but if there will be additional activities in the game, the full playthrough will take more time.

Recall, the game is set in the world of the distant future on the planet Midgaard. The main character will be Vuko Drakkainen, in whose body is implanted artificial intelligence - it controls health and increases physical strength and endurance. Apparently, the AI, which will be named Cyphral, will play a big role in the story and gameplay of The Night Wanderer.

Expect to see a lot of visual and narrative references to Scandinavian mythology and culture in the game.

When We Can Expect It

The developers have given an ingenious release date: "The game will be released when ready" on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
