Tennessee becomes the first state in the US to protect artists from artificial intelligence
On Thursday, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a law that should protect artists, including musicians, from unauthorised use of their works by artificial intelligence.
Here's What We Know
The progress in generative artificial intelligence, when it learned to create music like a human, led many experts to support this law, as AI raises legal and ethical issues.
The state's previous law protected the artist, but it did not specifically address new AI models and services that allow for human impersonation. In addition, they allow users to create unauthorised fake works with the image and voice of others.
Today, the US is trying to limit AI. For example, President Joe Biden's administration is pressing lawmakers to regulate the issue, but so far there is almost no effective solution.
