Rheinmetall has signed a 2.7 billion contract to supply the German Army with up to 123 heavy vehicles.
Here's What We Know
The vehicles will be based on the Rheinmetall Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV), which the company has supplied to the Australian Defence Force.
The main armament will be the MK30-2 automatic gun, but they will also be equipped with a multi-purpose guided missile system.
The vehicles will also be the main vehicle for the Bundeswehr's newly created "medium force", which will be responsible for long-range deployments, focusing on national and allied defence.
