Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a triumphant winner of The Game Audio Network Guild Awards, which honours games for outstanding music and audio accompaniment

The organisers of The Game Audio Network Guild Awards have announced the best games of 2023 in terms of music and sound.

Here's What We Know

The leader in the number of awards at the G.A.N.G. Awards 2023 was Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - it won in nine categories, including Best Music of the Year.

Baldur's Gate III was also in the top three with four awards, while Diablo IV and the interactive musical Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical took three awards each.

Surprisingly, the thriller Alan Wake 2 did not win any awards, although its sound and music design impressed many gamers.

  • Best Music in an Indie Game - Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical;
  • Best Sound in a New Franchise - Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical;
  • Best Original Song - Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical (Adrift);
  • Best Artificial Noise Effects - Diablo 4;
  • Best Sound in a Trailer - Diablo 4;
  • Best Cinematic and Cutscene Sound - Diablo 4.
  • Best dialogue in an indie game - Bramble: The Mountain King;
  • Best cover or remix - The Legend of Zelda series (Song of Storms);
  • Best Sound Design in an Indie Game - Season: A Letter to the Future;
  • Best Sound Design in a Casual or Social Game - Diablo Immortal;
  • Best Sound Design in an Indie Game - Tchia;
  • Best article or publication about game sound - Game Audio Mixing: Insights to Improve Your Mixing Performance;
  • Best podcast or show about game sound - Game Developers Conference 2023 "The Art of the Theme" with developers from Riot Games.
