All Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S24 will be available for the Galaxy S23, Fold 5 and Flip 5 series flagships
Last month, Samsung said that it was preparing a One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI features for 2023 flagship models. In the notes, the company mentioned that not all Galaxy AI features from the S24 series will be available in last year's models. But this doesn't seem to apply to the Galaxy S23, Fold 5 and Flip 5 series.
Here's What We Know
According to a recent leak from ICE UNIVERSE, Samsung's flagship smartphones Galaxy S23, Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 will get all the artificial intelligence (Galaxy AI) features introduced in the Galaxy S24. These features will be available as part of the One UI 6.1 update, which is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2024.
A screenshot from Ice Universe's X post shows that the Galaxy Fold 5's settings menu lists all the Galaxy AI features that can be found in the same menu on the Galaxy S24.
However, the Galaxy S23 FE may be the only device that won't get all the Galaxy AI features. Despite being released in 2023, it uses the same Exynos and Snapdragon chips as the Galaxy S22 series, rather than the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip found in the Galaxy S23, Fold 5 and Flip 5, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9. Therefore, its AI functionality is likely to be cut down.
The update to One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S23, Fold 5 and Flip 5 will reportedly begin later this month and will start rolling out more widely in April. Other devices could also get One UI 6.1 starting in April, though this is unconfirmed.
