Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is being updated to One UI 6.0
Samsung's mid-budget Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet is getting the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14 in select Asian countries.
Here's What We Know
The update has firmware version X216BXXU1BXA7 and is available in the Caucasus, Indonesia and Philippines. In India, the same update is available with firmware version X216BXXU1BXA9.
The update also contains a security patch dated December 2023 that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities. It's a big update, so it's recommended to download it over Wi-Fi. The tablet may receive two more Android updates in the future.
The One UI 6.0 update brings a new look to the quick bar and more detailed customisation of the lock screen. All the standard Samsung apps such as, Gallery, Camera, Weather, Reminders, My Files, Calendar, Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Internet and others have received new and improved features. A new emoji design, new widgets, gestures and a new default font have also been added.
The Galaxy Tab A9+ now works with the Windows Phone Link app on Windows PCs. With this feature, you can view notifications, use apps, and transfer files to your PC. Pop-ups now stay open when you open the multitasking screen and return to the normal screen, and the On Plane mode is now smarter and remembers whether you want Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to be on or off when the mode is activated.
The new software is expected to be available in other countries soon.
