In February 2024, Mozilla's Monitor Plus, launched by the high-tech company, drew attention to the pressing issue of online privacy.

Here's What We Know

On its offerings page, Monitor Plus highlights the existence of a data brokerage industry that is capable of selling users' personal information, worth up to $240 billion.

The latest step in protecting privacy was Mozilla's decision to exclude one of its key people search providers, Onerep. This decision was made after the publication of a report by security reporter Brian Krebs, who exposed the CEO and founder of Onerep.

In partnership with HaveIBeenPwned, Monitor Plus has been tracking possible cases of user data leakage on the darknet.

The influential Monitor Plus service, which was created to protect your data on the Internet, continues to operate despite this decision. Representatives of the company said that subscriptions to Monitor Plus will not be terminated and are working on a plan to move to other service providers.
