Galaxy Ring appeared in Samsung's battery widget, which means its release is imminent
Samsung is actively preparing for the launch of its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring. Its launch is rumoured to be expected in the coming months. The Galaxy Ring recently appeared in Samsung's standard "Battery" widget, which confirms the company's readiness to launch the new device.
Here's What We Know
The Galaxy Ring has appeared in Samsung's standard Battery widget. Our colleagues at Sammobile told us that if you add the widget to your home screen and go to the Settings menu, you can see the Galaxy Ring entry next to entries for Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Watch and other devices.
The new gadget is expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2024, possibly in July, at the Samsung Unpacked event, where the Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 will also be unveiled.
Samsung first unveiled the Galaxy Ring during the launch of the Galaxy S24 earlier this year. In the following weeks, the company gave a more detailed overview of the device at MWC in Barcelona and revealed some of its features.
The Galaxy Ring is designed to be lightweight and available in three different sizes and finishes. It is expected to include an inbuilt heart rate sensor and sleep tracking features. The Galaxy Ring will also possibly support wireless payments and will get a battery life of up to 9 days.
Samsung is reportedly planning to sell at least half a million units of the Galaxy Ring.
